Chris Wright

Dr. Christopher T. Wright is a recognized leader in integrated energy systems with more than 25 years of experience guiding transformative technologies from early-stage concepts through pre-commercialization. He serves as Director of Idaho National Laboratory's Energy Technology Proving Ground within the Energy and Environment Science and Technology Directorate. Dr. Wright leads initiatives that integrate heat, electricity, hydrogen, and carbon technologies to strengthen the competitiveness of U.S. industries, municipalities, and research institutions, positioning INL as the nation's premier hub for integrated energy innovation. He collaboratively created and launched the Energy Technology Proving Ground, a landmark research complex demonstrating real-world multi-source energy integration, including advanced nuclear systems. Under his leadership, INL has secured funding to integrate and demonstrate pre-commercial systems including high-temperature electrolysis, biogenic carbon utilization, synthetic fuels and chemical production, and thermal and electrical energy storage.
