Eric Zimmermann

Eric Zimmermann is Chief Operating Officer of LLOG Exploration a position he has held since 2020.  He has worked been with the company since 2007, holding the positions of Exploration Geologist and Vice President of Geology. Prior to LLOG, Mr. Zimmermann worked for BP in Houston Dominion Exploration in New Orleans as a geologist.  Mr. Zimmermann’s experience has been focused on exploration and development projects in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico for his entire career.

Mr. Zimmermann received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Geology at Louisiana State University.  He also received a Certificate in Energy Management from Rice University.  He is a Professional Geologist in the states of Texas and Louisiana and is a Fellow of the Geological Society of London.  He is currently Vice Chairman of National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) and former President of the Southeastern Geophysical Society.  Mr. Zimmermann sits on the advisory council for LSU Energy Council and LSU Department of Geology and is a member of the API Upstream Committee.

Mr. Zimmermann has been a guest lecturer at AAPG, NOGS, SGS, Colorado University – Boulder, Rice University, Louisiana State University, Tulane University, University of New Orleans, Lafayette Geological Society, SIPES, LSU Center for Energy Studies, and others.
