Gustavo Torres

Gustavo Torres serves as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Fervo Energy Company, an energy company pioneering enhanced geothermal systems (EGS) to deliver 24/7 carbon-free power. As a member of the executive leadership team, he leads Fervo's legal, compliance, risk, insurance, and corporate governance functions and advises on corporate strategy. He helped lead the company's successful initial public offering in May 2026. He previously served for more than a decade as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of a family of private equity-backed energy and industrial companies, and began his career practicing in the Global Projects groups at DLA Piper LLP and Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. Gustavo holds a J.D. with honors from the University of Texas School of Law and a B.A. in Economics from Grinnell College, and is bilingual in English and Spanish. He was selected for the 2025 class of PODER25™, the Hispanic National Bar Association's general counsel development program, and serves as President Elect of the Hispanic Bar Association of Houston.
