Biography

Scott Fairley is a senior partner and head of the public law and international arbitration practice groups at Cambridge LLP with a diverse litigation, dispute settlement and opinions practice, at all levels of court in Canada, including the Supreme Court of Canada. He has also been counsel for amicus curiae and an expert witness before U.S. Federal courts, as well as serving as an arbitrator and counsel in domestic and international arbitrations. In addition to undergraduate and law degrees from Queen's University where he is currently a member of the adjunct faculty, Scott holds an LL.M. in international legal studies from N.Y.U., and a doctorate in public law from Harvard University. Dr, Fairley is widely published in Canada and abroad in the fields of private and public international and constitutional law and most recently, the author of Foreign Affairs in the Canadian Constitution, published by the University of British Columbia Press in the fall of 2025.
