Jason Lanclos

M. Jason Lanclos, P.E. serves as Director of State Energy Development and Planning at Louisiana Economic Development (LED), where he leads the state’s energy strategy, implementation, and lead generation across both traditional and emerging sectors, including hydrogen, carbon capture and storage (CCUS), and nuclear energy, in coordination with the Governor’s Office. Mr. Lanclos joined LED in August 2024 after serving as Energy Director for the Louisiana Department of Energy and Natural Resources (DENR)—now the Department of Conservation and Energy—where he was a principal advisor to the Governor’s Office on state energy policy, infrastructure, and project development beginning in 2018. He previously held an appointed position at the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) under two administrations, where he oversaw engineering, operations, and project management at the Agency and led major ecosystem restoration initiatives, including one of the largest coastal restoration efforts undertaken by the State of Louisiana. Mr. Lanclos currently serves as a federal appointee to the Offshore CCUS Permitting Task Force and as a member of the Governor’s Task Force on Deepwater Port Funding. He also serves on the LSU Center for Energy Studies Board. Prior to public service, he worked in private industry managing large-scale energy and infrastructure projects. Mr. Lanclos holds a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Louisiana State University and is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
