Jeanette R. Weiland

Jeanette Weiland is the Chief Business Officer at Tulane University’s School of Science & Engineering, where she oversees a $100 million annual budget and manages the school's finance, HR, and marketing operations. She played a key role in establishing Tulane’s first venture capital fund, building and leading a team to support the fund and community engagement efforts while connecting industry partners with university researchers developing scalable technologies.  Prior to Tulane, Jeanette was Senior Vice President of Bio, Innovation, & Special Projects at the New Orleans Business Alliance, where she managed business development and marketing teams, and secured over $2 million in federal and state grants to build biotech infrastructure and a community economic development investment fund.  She has extensive experience leading financial operations, including multimillion-dollar budgets and strategic planning for Ochsner Health’s retail division, and overseeing the investment of client assets as Executive Vice President at CIC Wealth.  She holds degrees from LSU and the University of New Orleans and is dedicated to applying her financial expertise to foster economic growth in Louisiana.  Jeanette lives in New Orleans with her family and is also a children's book author in her spare time.
