Joe Fawell

Joe Fawell joined Air Liquide in 2018 to serve as the Vice President of Government Affairs for all of the company's North America activities, a position he still holds. He spearheads the development and implementation of Air Liquide's policy initiatives in the United States, advocating for the company's priorities with government officials at all levels. Leading a dedicated team as well as consultants, he ensures the representation of Air Liquide's interests for its more than 20,000 employees in the United States, with a strategic focus on clean energy, electronics, and tax policy. 

He has managed Air Liquide’s participation and preparation for two separate hearings in front of United States Senate Committees by Air Liquide executives, three separate site visits by the U.S. Secretary of Energy, and he regularly represents the company in front of senior decision-makers in the United States government. Prior to joining Air Liquide, Fawell served as legislative director for a U.S. congressman, overseeing all federal legislative activities and working extensively on the landmark 2017 tax legislation, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
