Joshua A. Basseches

Joshua A. Basseches is the David and Jane Flowerree Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies and Public Policy at Tulane University. His research and teaching focus on energy and climate policy and politics, especially in the U.S. states. He examines the roles of business actors, environmental and ratepayer advocacy organizations, and state-level policymakers in shaping policy content and design. His research has been published in peer-reviewed outlets such as Climatic Change, Politics and Society, State Politics and Policy Quarterly, and Social Science Quarterly. His commentary has appeared in media outlets such as NBC News, The Boston Globe, Colorado Public Radio, Vox, The Advocate/Times-Picayune, and Louisiana Public Radio.
