Biography
A seasoned leader in natural resource management, having served as the pioneering female Commissioner of Conservation for Louisiana until February 2024. In this role, she led regulatory oversight for all oil and gas activities in the state. With a background that includes positions such as Assistant Secretary for the Office of Mineral Resources and counsel to the Louisiana House of Representatives’ Committee on Natural Resources and Environment, Edwards brings extensive expertise in governmental relations and law to her work. A graduate of Southern University Law Center, she is deeply committed to community service, contributing her time and expertise to organizations such as the United States Commission on Civil Rights and the Junior League of Baton Rouge. Edwards is a member of both the Louisiana and Florida Bar Associations, embodying a dedication to legal excellence and environmental stewardship.
