Robby Habans

Robert Habans is a researcher at the Kathleen Babineaux Blanco Public Policy Research Center at the University of Louisiana Lafayette. He also contributes to The Data Center of Southeast Louisiana, where he was previously chief economist. Most of his writing and research focuses on employment, place, and local economies. Recent work has included local estimates of wealth inequality (The Data Center), a report on the employment outcomes of higher education in Louisiana (Blanco Center), and topics stemming from Louisiana’s environmental and energy transitions. He holds degrees from UC Berkeley, UNO, and the University of Illinois at Chicago.
