Biography

Senate President J. Cameron Henry, Jr. 
District 9


J. Cameron Henry, Jr., is a graduate of Jesuit High School and Louisiana State University, where he earned a B.S. in Political Science.  He earned his MBA in Finance from Tulane University.

President Henry is a Republican from Metairie serving his second term. He was unanimously elected as the 11th President to preside over the Louisiana Senate for the 2024-28 term and is known for having a strong knowledge of the legislature and its processes as a result of being elected and serving in both chambers.

President Henry represents Senate District 9 which covers the Old Metairie, Old Jefferson and Airline Park areas, as well as parts of uptown New Orleans. 
Henry previously served 12 years in the Louisiana House of Representatives for District 82.
