Biography
Tyler Patrick Gray serves as Director of Energy Innovation at LSU’s Energy Institute. His work centers on developing durable systems for organizational success—aligning people, processes, funding, and decision-making to turn complex goals into measurable results. He previously served as Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Energy and Natural Resources, President of the Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association, and Corporate Secretary of Placid Refining Company. A licensed Louisiana attorney, Gray holds a B.A. in economics from James Madison University, a J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans, and an M.B.A. from LSU. His career spans public service, higher education, law, and industry, with a focus on strengthening institutions and advancing Louisiana’s energy economy.
