Biography

William Gurrola is Vice President – Port Arthur and General Manager of Port Arthur LNG. In this role, William will have overall leadership for the safe, efficient, and profitable execution and long-term operation of the of the Port Arthur LNG enterprise, including general construction budget and schedule management, risk management, financial management, regulatory and external affairs and readiness for operations, in each case working collaboratively with the SI and business line functional leadership. Gurrola brings more than 20 years of experience in the energy industry. Most recently, as vice president of project development, William was responsible for advancing Sempra Infrastructure’s development efforts in natural gas liquefaction projects in Texas, Louisiana and Mexico, including Port Arthur LNG, Cameron LNG expansion, Vista Pacifico LNG, and Energia Costa Azul expansion. Between 2016 and 2020, he was senior project director of the ECA phase 1 liquefaction project, leading all development and commercial activities for the project. ECA phase 1 declared a positive final investment decision in November 2020. Previously, William Gurrola was director of commercial development for Sempra LNG where he held key commercial and marketing roles across Sempra LNG’s portfolio of LNG and midstream projects. Prior to joining Sempra LNG, he held diverse commercial and financial positions for NRG Energy, Enron, and Unocal. William Gurrola holds a master’s in business administration from Tulane University in New Orleans and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de Mexico (ITAM) in Mexico City.
